A parent-only product
Only the parent or guardian creates an account, configures profiles, receives email, and pays for the Service. Stories are delivered to the parent, who chooses how and when to share them with their child.
Minimal information about children
We ask only for the child’s first name (or a nickname) and age. We do not ask for birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, photos, school, or other identifying details. We recommend using a nickname.
Age-appropriate content
- Story length, vocabulary, and themes are tuned to the child’s age band.
- Prompts steer the AI toward classical, character-building stories — kindness, courage, honesty, perseverance, wisdom, temperance, justice.
- Sexual content, graphic violence, hateful content, and adult themes are prohibited by our content policy and filtered by our prompt design.
- Parents can preview each story in their dashboard before reading aloud.
COPPA and similar laws
The U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) regulates online services directed to children under 13. Night, Night Hero is directed to parents, not children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The limited child information we receive comes from a parent or guardian and is used solely to personalize the bedtime story delivered to that parent. If you believe a child has provided information to us directly, email lancedmcginnis@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
No AI training on child data
We do not sell child information and we do not use child profiles or generated stories to train AI models.
Parental control
- Edit or remove a child profile at any time from your dashboard.
- Pause or cancel nightly emails with one click from any email.
- Request deletion of all data by emailing us.
Report a concern
If you encounter a generated story that you believe is inappropriate for any age, or if you have a child-safety concern of any kind, please email lancedmcginnis@gmail.com with the date, child profile, and a brief description. We review every report.
